Before visiting the castle, your guide provides an in-depth historical overview. You then explore Edinburgh Castle independently*, where you can admire the Honours of Scotland (Crown Jewels), the 15th-century gun Mons Meg, and the famous One O’Clock Gun.

Starting early, you leave Inverness and travel along the Great Glen Fault Line towards Loch Ness, where you may catch a glimpse of the legendary monster and admire the picturesque Urquhart Castle from a distance. The journey continues through dramatic Highland landscapes to the west coast and Eilean Donan Castle*. Here, you can choose to explore inside Scotland’s most photographed castle or simply enjoy the breathtaking views from outside.
Next, you cross over to the Isle of Skye, travelling along the east coast through the striking Red Cuillin Mountains to Sligachan, where you pause to photograph the clear mountain streams. Upon arriving in Portree, you have some free time to enjoy lunch at one of the town’s charming local restaurants.
The afternoon takes you to the Trotternish Peninsula to admire some of the island’s most iconic landscapes, including the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, and the Quiraing. You then stop in Kyleakin for refreshments and a chance to see the dramatic Castle Moil ruins or the Skye Bridge and Eilean Ban.
Returning to Inverness, you take a different route back, offering more spectacular views of the Highlands along the way.

Stroll along the River Clyde and admire the port city’s outstanding Victorian and Art Nouveau architecture, visit its fine art museums, and discover excellent shopping spots. We suggest a stop at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum for an additional cultural experience.
In the afternoon, enjoy a 1-hour guided tour at The Clydeside Distillery. Meet skilled craftsmen, learn about Glasgow’s whiskey heritage, and take in stunning views of the River Clyde from the Still House. The tour concludes with a tasting of 3 Wee Drams.
